Second Life - A Whole New Virtual World

SecondLife has been around for a number of years now with a growing number of users by the day. If any of you are Sims fanatics, they have been upgraded!

While there are similarities, you don't have the restrictions that you have on the Sims. The Sims also being a form of a second life where you have to; feed, water and generally care for your sim so it stays alive and happy holds its own restrictions of general needs being the only thing you can do, with a limited clothes and appearance selection.

SecondLife however allows you a lot more freedom. The choice in clothing and appearance is virtually limitless. You can in essence be whatever you so choose to be; a rabbit, an alien, a human, a vampire...even a building. There are also in game mini games such as, if you play a vampire for example you have a hud attachment to your person allowing you to bite people to stay alive.

The game is for adult use, since the freedom it gives you allows sexual content in just about every form you can imagine, starting from your avatar alone and the attachments available to you...need i say more.

You can go virtually anywhere in the world, shop, party and even work and make real money as a gentlemen in wales has done. He owns a string of four reggae clubs/shops in the game and is making thousands real life from other users. While there are countless of free items you can purchase, of course all the best stuff comes at a price. The price is in Linden dollars (game money) which is purchased with real money and of course everybody wants to look good so happily spend their hard earned cash every month maintaining the latest fashions.

Once you get accustomed to the game, you can learn how to make things such as clothes and furniture, another of the countless ways to make money and easily done if your a bit of a computer whizz, knowing a thing or two about scripts and animations certainly help.

On the downside, the game is very addicted to some people. I'm sure a few people may have heard the story about a young couple who met in the game, got married real life and then got divorced when the wife caught the husbands avatar sleeping with another avatar...it sounds crazy but its certainly not a single case. People have spent hours on the game neglecting their real lives and families, its not unusual to hear somebody over voice chat with their children screaming for attention in the background.

For a get away or way to meet people every so often its great, but be very carful and remember their are real people behind every avatar and they don't always have your best interests at heart.
